Casey & Nancy

family.

Family is an extremely important aspect of our lives. Casey’s entire family lives within 40 miles of us, with the exception of his brother who lives in Hawaii.  Casey's father was, himself, adopted, and we're excited about the role model he'll be for our child.

Nancy’s entire family resides in the Chicago/Michigan area. We each have 3 siblings. We have 11 nieces and nephews between us, the oldest being 14 and the youngest being newborn. Our beautiful New Mexican landscapes are a draw to Nancy’s extended family, and we are fortunate enough to see each of them at least twice a year. We see Casey’s family daily.

Casey was born in Alaska, but moved to Hawaii as a 6 month old infant. He grew up on Maui surfing, snorkeling and fishing. When he showed a new interest in anything, he was encouraged to pursue it. He was raised with strong moral values, community awareness, importance of family and high moral character. As a teenager, he moved off the island to Pennsylvania where he attended high school, and was captain of the football team.

Nancy was born in a suburb of Chicago. Her childhood consisted of piano lessons, gymnastics, ballet and horseback riding. Family outings and vacations always involved sailing. Her parents were dedicated to their church and community, they regularly volunteered, and still do today. They have always been supportive and encouraging. Social responsibility was a big part of Nancy’s upbringing, as was a constant “do unto others” attitude she took on from a very early age. Education was, and still is, of utmost importance in her life. She majored in architecture at the University of Illinois.
